Hello there! 🤗 Welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I hope you’re doing great and that everything’s going wonderfully for you. This post isn’t about research; it’s all about my own experiences and thoughts. I’m really keen to hear yours too! So, what does friendship mean to you, and what role does distance play in that?

I’m sure everyone has their own deep and personal definitions of friendship. For me, it’s a truly powerful word. A friend is someone who accepts you just as you are, looks out for your well-being, and is always there for you, come rain or shine. They’re the person with whom time just melts away, with whom you laugh until your stomach hurts, and who offers a warmth and intimacy that feels like family. A friend is synonymous with trust. That’s what friendship means to me, and honestly, even that doesn’t fully capture its depth; it’s a bond that runs incredibly deep.
Does Distance Truly Matter?
So, what about distance in friendship? Does it mean kilometers? Can’t we be friends with someone hundreds of kilometers away? If anyone thinks distance breaks the bond of friendship, please, don’t make me laugh! After all, in this day and age, we can connect with someone on the other side of the world in seconds. In such a time, using kilometers as an excuse for distant relationships is just plain silly. Am I wrong?

The Real Distance is in Communication
In my opinion, distance in all close relationships, not just friendships, is entirely about communication. If there’s no communication, even if you live in the same neighborhood, it can feel like miles are between you. Let me explain with a little story:
There was a girl who, during university, met two people living in different cities. The three of them became really close friends. When university ended, everyone returned to their own cities. Our girl kept in very frequent contact with one of her friends. With the other, however, communication was limited due to that friend’s busy work schedule, but there were absolutely no problems between them.
Then one day, she felt much closer to the friend she was constantly in touch with. She also felt strangely guilty because she loved her other friend just as much, and their bond was mutual. So why did she feel more distant from her, even though she loved her so much?

That day, she realized just how much communication sustains and strengthens a bond. Therefore, even if you’re living a super busy life, make just a minute or two for the people you love. Tell them you love them. The more you communicate and express your affection, the deeper and stronger your bond will become. It’s not about kilometers; it’s about communication. We’re not interested in excuses like “I was too busy” or “I didn’t have time to call back.” Since we never go anywhere without our phones, sending a two-minute message shouldn’t be hard, right?
Haha, I got a little passionate there at the end, didn’t I? Well, I really wanted to touch on this topic in this post. Maybe someone out there needed to hear it. Don’t forget to share your thoughts with me! Stay with love. 🧡
